Welcome to the Malaysian Real Estate Institute (MyREI).
Real estate is more than land and buildings-it shapes how we live, work, invest, and build our communities. In Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region, the sector is facing rapid changes driven by urbanisation, housing needs, technological advancement, economic shifts, climate change, and sustainability.
At MyREI, we are committed to bridging research, policy, and professional practice by providing knowledge and practical solutions for the real estate sector. Through research, consultancy, training, publications, and strategic partnerships, we work with government, industry, academia, professional bodies, and communities to address emerging challenges and opportunities.
Our aspiration is to position MyREI as a trusted centre of excellence in real estate research and knowledge exchange-contributing to a more innovative, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable real estate sector in Malaysia and the region.

History
The inception of the Malaysian Real Estate Institute (MyREI) started from the formation of the Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) focus group on May 25, 2016; operating under the esteemed Department of Real Estate Management within the Faculty of Technology Management and Business. This pioneering initiative laid the groundwork for the official establishment of MyREI on September 12, 2021, with the dedicated mission to fortify the real estate sector through robust contributions in consultancy, advisory services, cutting-edge research, impactful publications, the estabishment of professional recognition centers, and fostering innovation in property sector education.
Objective
i) Serve as a leading referral and centre of expertise in real estate.
ii) Advance knowledge, professional competencies and excellence in the real estate sector.
iii) Undertake applied research and develop innovative solutions to address emerging issues and challenges in the real estate sector.
iv) Strengthen strategic collaboration among academia, government, industry and communities.
v) Disseminate real estate knowledge and enhance public understanding to support the sustainability of the real estate sector.
